Among many new materials, the application of lightweight materials such as “plastic generation” in automobiles has become a common practice. LFT: A quality choice for automotive lightweight materials

It is understood that LFT refers to a glass fiber reinforced colloidal material obtained by long, continuous glass fiber, which is fully wetted by a resin by a special process and then cut into a specific size. Usually long glass lengths are 10 to 25 mm. As an excellent lightweight composite material, LFT is a lightweight, high-strength, modular design, reduced component count and number of processes, low cost, flexible design and corrosion resistance.

The addition of long glass fiber can significantly reduce the molding shrinkage of the matrix resin, but sometimes the glass fiber tends to have uneven orientation in the matrix, and there is a problem that the shrinkage ratio between the flow direction of the melt and the vertical direction is large, and finally the warpage of the workpiece is caused. It is deformed and cannot be assembled (as shown in Figure 4). By improving the interfacial adhesion between the fiber and the matrix, Juner greatly improves the uniformity of fiber orientation during the injection molding process and significantly reduces the warpage of the material.

Due to the addition of glass fibers, the distribution of glass fibers in the resin matrix is ​​difficult to control, resulting in floating fibers on the surface of the product, which affects the appearance of the product. Through special processes, Juner achieves better control of the glass fiber in the composite material, so that the surface of the product is smooth and free of floating fibers.

With the irreversible development of automotive lightweighting, the automotive industry's demand for LFT materials is being liberalized.

However, the industry believes that the current promotion of LFT materials in China is also limited by factors such as low manufacturing process, and the output is not high.
