Japanese University Research and Development of New Solar Cells Expected to Achieve Leapfrogging Development

Recently, the Graduate School of Okinawa University of Science and Technology has developed a new all-inorganic perovskite solar cell that solves three key issues that plagued solar cell technology: efficiency, stability, and cost.

The sun releases enormous amounts of energy at the center of the solar system. Solar energy uses this part of energy, which is one of the key goals for achieving sustainable energy supply.

Electronic devices with solar cells can convert light energy directly into electrical energy for use. To date, most solar cells are made of silicon, and the main use of this material is its ability to absorb light. However, the cost of producing silicon panels is high, so the cost performance has been a problem.

Scientists have been studying a substitute material made of a perovskite structure. The perovskite is a kind of mineral found on the earth. It is composed of calcium, titanium and oxygen arranged in a specific molecule. Scientists have studied the material with the same crystal structure, that is, the perovskite structure material.

Perovskite materials are very useful as solar collector active layers because they absorb light efficiently and, more importantly, are much cheaper than silicon. This material is also very versatile, for example, it can be dissolved in a solvent and sprayed directly onto the substrate.

However, this material is also not perfect. The perovskite structure material is usually very unstable and unstable at high temperatures, which hinders its commercialization.

OIST's Graduate Institute of Energy Materials and Surface Science (OIST) was led by Prof. Qi Yaping. He discovered a new type of perovskite material. The material is stable, efficient, and the production cost is relatively low. The future use of solar cells will be even more. widely.

Recently, their research results were published in "Advanced Energy Materials". Dr. Jia Liang and Dr. Liu Zonghao made great contributions to this work.

But before the perovskite solar cell becomes commercially viable like a silicon solar cell, there are still many challenges to overcome. For example, perovskite solar cells have a life of one or two years, but silicon solar cells can work for 20 years.

Qi Yaping and his colleagues will continue to study the efficiency and durability of these new types of batteries and are manufacturing these batteries on a commercial scale. In view of the fact that since the first perovskite solar cell was reported in 2009, the technology has developed rapidly and the future of the new battery can be said to be very bright.

Terrazzo Tiles

Terrazzo Porcelain Tiles use the 3D injet printing technology to make sure the tiles more close to the natural terrazzo stone. It has specification of 600*600mm,300*600mm and 300*300mm.Also it has good hardness,wear-resistance and anti-pollution, Whicn widely used in the bathroom, kitchen, balcony and dining room as well as in many commercial area.
