Onions are suitable for normal conditions and are planted between mid-September and September.

Onion planting knowledge:

(1) Seedbed preparation. The seedbed should have a higher topography, convenient drainage and fertility, and fertile soil. In recent years, no field of onion and garlic crops has been planted, and neutral loam is suitable. The amount of fertilizer applied to the seedbed should not be too much, so as to avoid excessive growth of the seedlings. Generally, 300 kg of organic fertilizer is applied per 100 square meters of seedbed, and 5-10 kg of superphosphate is applied. Till the hoe for 2 to 3 times, mix the base fertilizer and the soil thoroughly, and the depth of the arable land is about 15 cm. Then, the hoe is flattened and made into a raft that is 1.5 to 1.6 meters wide and 7 to 10 meters long.

(2) Seeding methods. Seeding methods generally have two types of seeding and spreading.

1. Striping: First open a small ditch with a spacing of 9-10 cm on the surface of the seedbed. The depth of the ditch is 1.5-2 cm. After seeding, sweep the soil with a hoe, and then use the foot force to step the soil of the seeding ditch and then water it. .

2. Spreading: First, pour the bottom water in the seedbed, then infiltrate a thin layer of fine soil, then sprinkle the seeds, and then cover the soil 1.5 cm. In order to speed up the emergence of seedlings, seed soaking and germination can be carried out. Soaking seeds are soaked in cold water for 12 hours, and the seeds are soaked until the seeds are not bonded. The germination is soaked and then germinated at a temperature of 18-25 ° C, and the seeds are washed once a day. It can be sown until it is exposed.

(3) Seeding amount. The amount of seeding is also related to the robustness of the seedlings and the first convulsions. The density is too high, the seedlings are weak, the density is too thin, the seedlings grow too thick, and it is easy to convulsion. Generally, 600 to 700 grams of seeds are planted per 100 square meters of seedbed area. The ratio of seedbed area to planted field is generally 1:15-20.

(4) Management of seedling period. Be sure to keep the seedbed moist after sowing to prevent the soil panel from affecting seed germination and emergence. It is necessary to wait until the seedling grows the first true leaf before it can properly control the watering. When the young stem grows about 4-6 cm, it forms a bow shape, called "pull bow"; from the cotyledon unearthed to the embryo stem straight, called "stretching waist". Generally, the bottom water is poured before sowing. After sowing, it is generally not watered. When the “bow” is stretched, the water is poured in time to ensure the whole seedling. If the bottom water is insufficient or not watered before sowing, it is usually watered 2 to 3 times after seeding. Seedling stage combined with watering for topdressing and promoting seedling growth. The amount of fertilizer applied is 10-15 kg per mu of fertilizer, or 1000-1300 kg of decomposed manure. Spray a new high-fat film to protect the fat. When the seedlings emit 1 or 2 true leaves, weeding should be carried out in time, and the seedlings should be planted. The seedlings should be kept at a distance of 3 to 4 meters, and about 3 cm in length.
