Cyan Power Introduces Industry's First 350-Watt Peak Solar Module

US manufacturer of photovoltaic modules, Silevo, joined the 300W Club and introduced the industry’s first solar module with a 350-watt peak (Wp), which is made of 72 Cylon Power patented Triex156mm solar cells.

The company said that the development of this high-output component will be achieved by applying Cellex's Triex solar cell technology to a larger 156mm cell substrate, while high-efficiency solar cells typically use a 125mm substrate.

The company stated that it saves costs throughout the manufacturing and final installation process.

Xu Xiang, CEO of Cylon Power, said: “Integrating solar cells with more than 21% efficiency into industry-standard component specifications will help unlock the next wave of cost reductions for photovoltaic systems. Currently, for standard system designers, Using batteries with efficiencies of more than 21%, they must redesign the balancing system to accommodate non-standard technology. Given the combination of Cypress Power's standard form factor and high performance, designers can seamlessly leverage existing balance system components. At the same time, the output power of the system is increased, resulting in a substantial reduction in overall costs and a higher return on investment."

Cyan Power recently partnered with Sun Edison (formerly Hughes Electronic Materials) to optimize its battery process and create high-efficiency solar cells before packaging it as a 355Wp component.

Cyan Power stated that in the first half of 2014, it will work on the 156mm battery production line, which will provide the market with over 350Wp of components.
