Japanese machine tool orders increased slightly by 1.1% year-on-year in May 2011

Abstract: Some time ago, Japan suffered from major earthquakes and subsequent nuclear accidents and planned power outages, but machine tool orders have been growing. In May 2011, the total orders received by Japanese machine tools totaled 10.81 billion yen, a slight increase of 1.1% from the previous month. Compared with the same period last year, it increased by 34.2%.

According to the latest statistics released by the Japan Machine Tool Industry Association (JMTBA), the total orders received by Japanese machine tools in May 2011 totaled 10.81 billion yen, a slight increase of 1.1% from the previous month. Compared with the same period last year, it increased by 34.2%. Up to now, the cumulative orders of the Japanese machine tool industry in 2011 reached 545.188 billion yen, an increase of 52.8% compared with the same period last year.

From January to April 2011, Japan's machine tool orders totaled 437.631 billion yen, a year-on-year increase of 58.2%, and the order amount basically recovered to the level before the fall of the 2008 financial crisis. From January to April 2011, Japan's machine tool orders totaled 437.631 billion yen, a year-on-year increase of 58.2%, and the order amount basically recovered to the level before the fall of the 2008 financial crisis.

In April 2010, Japanese machine tool orders increased by 220.5% to 80.707 billion yen, of which domestic orders increased by 87.3% to 22.833 billion yen, and foreign orders increased by 345.4% to 57.874 billion yen.

In Japan, whether it is domestic demand or external demand, the demand for grinding machines and gears for automobiles and construction companies has rebounded remarkably, which has promoted the development of the local machine tool industry. Compared with the previous growth, Japan's machine tool orders have declined. It can be seen that the impact of major earthquakes and subsequent nuclear accidents and planned power outages is large.
