In the first quarter, China imported 83.964 million tons of coal

The General Administration of Customs of China announced on April 10 that in the first quarter China's coal imports totaled 83.964 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 5.1%. The average import price was 493.7 yuan/ton, a year-on-year decrease of 14.2%.

In March, the export volume of China's hard coal and lignite was 740,000 tons, which was a year-on-year decrease of 5.13% and a chain growth of 32.14%. In March, China’s coal exports amounted to US$58.77 million.

In the first quarter, 1.97 million tons of coal were exported, a cumulative decrease of 70,000 tons from the same period of last year, a cumulative decrease of 3.5% year-on-year, and the cumulative amount of exports was US$156.725 million, which was a 20.8% year-on-year decrease from the cumulative export value of US$19.976 million in 2013.

In March, 650,000 tons of coke and semi-coke were exported, an increase of 100,000 tons from the previous month. The completed export amount was 98.527 million US dollars.

In the first quarter, 1.94 million tons of coke and semi-coke were exported, an increase of 1.67 million tons from the previous year's total of 270,000 tons, an increase of 6.16 times year-on-year. The total amount of coke and semi-coke exported this year was USD 287.928 million, which was an increase of 5 times from the same period of last year.
