Plan to cut, use and encourage the use of wood

At present, China's forest coverage rate is only over 10%, far lower than Russia, Brazil and other countries. Timber resources are still in a stage of self-sufficiency. Zhang Guolin explained that the main reason for this situation was the deforestation of the 1960s and 1970s, which caused the country’s forest area to be greatly reduced. Until the 1990s, the country began to issue relevant policies, such as natural forest protection projects, It is forbidden to indiscriminate deforestation, return farmland to forests, etc. However, the reduced forest resources are difficult to make up in the short term. Fast-growing trees have a short growth cycle, a high survival rate, and are easy to promote. Therefore, planting fast-growing forests is an effective method to increase forest coverage in China. Zhang Guolin said: “Rapid wood is a renewable resource in the short term, so planting fast-growing forests not only conforms to China’s sustainable development strategy, but also promotes the economic development of the wood industry. It is also an effective method to increase forest coverage in China.”

"Saving is just a way. We should encourage the use of wood," said Zhang Guolin. He believes that for the current huge demand for the wood market in China, conservation is not the only and best way. Only encourage the use of wood, promote the economic development of the wood industry, and promote the cultivation of fast-growing forests, reasonable harvesting and reasonable use of benign The cycle can solve the increasingly serious problem of wood resources in our country. In the 1990s, the country began to encourage people to plant fast-growing forests. The enthusiasm of the people is high. This is not only because the country has preferential policies, but more importantly, the fast-growing forest can bring people certain economic benefits. When consciously increasing the number and area of ​​plantations, the forest coverage rate will increase. Zhang Guolin also stated that encouraging wood products companies to use wood not only promoted economic development, but also enriched the building materials market and improved people’s living standards. While satisfying people’s needs, they also promoted the development of the wood industry.

“Wood industry is a low value-added, low-tech content and labor-intensive industry. While the high-speed development of the wood industry has earned foreign exchange, it has also solved a large number of labor problems for our country. The rapid expansion of China's wood industry has also led to some drawbacks of the industry. In the timber circulation process, some manufacturers, merchants, and consumers may suffer certain losses, and also cause a gap between enterprises and businesses, and between businesses and consumers. Distrust between companies and businesses. At present, how the wood industry can achieve long-term and healthy development has become a concern of many people.

According to him, at present, the wood-related industries or associations in the country are gradually improving the order of market management and raising the level of product supervision, and have formulated corresponding industry system standards, and the wood market has become more and more standardized.

For example, in the furniture industry, from the supervision of raw materials to the testing of product spraying, management has become increasingly sophisticated and the market has become more standardized.

Zhang Guolin also appealed: "The whole society attaches importance to it. Everyone acts and inferior products will hide like a street mouse and eventually disappear."

According to Zhang Guolin, entering the 21st century, China's economy and the world economy have become more closely connected, and the degree of marketization and internationalization is getting higher and higher. The industry must achieve long-term and sound development. Establishing a good social credit system has become a top priority. “We have selected the first batch of AAA-credit companies in the timber industry. These companies were selected to set an example and a positive example in the industry, allowing more companies to follow-up or follow suit, thereby increasing the integrity of the industry as a whole. For a company that has obtained a AAA-level credit certificate, it is glory and spur, and through credit evaluation work, it promotes the integrity of the enterprise. At the same time, we also need the society to reject incorruptible companies and renounce dishonesty, so that it can be done from the point of view. To gradually increase the overall quality of the industry with the "fire of the prairie fire," said Zhang Guolin.

According to Zhang Guolin, the current international environmental pressure faced by the timber industry is very heavy. In order to promote the development of international timber legal trade, companies that have participated in the credit certification promise that in the future import timber procurement contracts, the suppliers are required to promise that they will provide timber. It is in accordance with the relevant regulations for local timber harvesting. This practice has been well received by the European Union and other international organizations and it is very favorable for Chinese wood products to enter the international market.
