The technician opened the room window first and the indoor PM2.5 concentration stabilized at 208 micrograms per cubic meter. At the beginning of the experiment, the first was a cloth mask with a filter element. The technicians started the experiment after tightening the cloth mask according to the instructions. However, the value of PM2.5 not only decreased but increased again, reaching 224 micrograms per cubic meter, more than in the room. 208 micrograms are even higher per cubic meter. According to the technician, the mask has no filtering effect at all. Therefore, as soon as a person inhales, the concentration of PM2.5 in the mask will continue to increase over time. Experiments have proved that this sandwich with a filter cartridge is completely ineffective.

The second test was the N95 mask. The data quickly dropped. The final average value was 4 micrograms per cubic meter. The filtering effect was very good. After that, the technicians tested the other three kinds of masks. The result of the test was 10 micrograms per cubic meter of KN90 mask, 20 micrograms per cubic meter of KN90 mask with breathing valve, and 171 micrograms per cubic meter of activated carbon mask with filter element. The cloth mask was 224 micrograms per cubic meter. The first three kinds of filters have a good effect, and the latter two basically do not have the function of filtering PM2.5. Experiments have proved that we still have to choose a professional anti-mite mask like the N95 or KN90 in order to have the effect of filtering PM2.5.
